About The Academy

Grimstone castle is an academy hidden in the so-called 23rd Pentagon, a place hidden between the human world and the world of magic. The castle was built in 1067 by the Freegleam family, a royal family of wizards. It was their oldest son, Tenebris Mavius Freegleam, who turned the castle into an academy in 1270. After his death, his younger brother Lumen Vivictus Freegleam took over his position as headmaster. He later passed the castle on to the Ambrose family in 1342, who house the academy to this day.

The Grimstone academy offers classes and extra courses for every non-human being. From alchemy and herbalogy, charms, the history of magic or even archery - no matter what age or species, the Grimstone academy has enough space for everyone.

Now, after being closed for renovations, Grimstone is finally ready to open its gates again!

Rules

1. The members of this academy speak English only.

2. Our focus lies on roleplaying, therefore we ask you to stay in character and not to speak ooc on timeline.

3. No twins, there'll be only one of each faceclaim at a time.

4. AU / OC roleplayers only. Please note that your character has to match this agency's theme! (Mafia bosses for example wouldn't attend a school for supernatural beings.)

5. Faceclaim and be whoever you want! You don't necessarily have to be a witch or a wizard. You can be any creature/species you'd like.

6. Remember: The more effort you put into roleplaying the better your experience at Grimstone will be!

How To...

... roleplay the classes:
You will get sorted into a class with up to five other roleplayers. The professor of the class will add you and your classmates into a group DM, since it's easier to interact with the class this way instead of mentioning everyone and losing track of mentions. The rules are simple: Bring everything you need and raise your hand before speaking.

... interact with roleplayers outside of our academy:
Feel free to interact with whoever you'd like! Just keep in mind that we actually live hidden from humans, so don't go around and tell everyone that you're attending a magical academy with vampires in your class. We wouldn't want a horde of angry humans with pitchforks and torches at our doorstep, right?

... join the academy:
The academy not only accepts students, we're also occassionally looking for more professors to expand our range of classes as well as nurses for our hospital ward and other staff members to keep the academy running. The Houses

Similar to other academies of the magic world, our students get sorted into houses. The only difference is that our students get to choose their house, as long as there are enough free beds. For now only the north and south wing of the castle are opened.

Tenebris

TENEBRIS (lat. dark)
Named after Tenebris Mavius Freegleam, oldest son of the Freegleam family, which built the Grimstone castle back in 1067.
Tenebris turned the castle into an academy in 1270 after his father's death, spent teaching Defense against the Dark Arts for 20 years before dying in an accident during class.

Lumen

LUMEN (lat. light)
Named after Lumen Vivictus Freegleam, youngest son of the Freegleam family, which built the Grimstone castle back in 1067.
Lumen passed the academy on to the Ambrose family in 1342 and retired. He's the only member of the Freegleam family that's still alive and sometimes stops by at Grimstone.

Staff Chambers

The Chambers of Grimstone were used as the royal chambers way before Grimstone castle became an academy. They are used as chambers for the teaching staff since 1270.
